My 2001 Mitsubishi Shogun Elegance Mk3 is for sale. For sale is my 2001 Mitsubishi Shogun Elegance 3.5 V6 petrol automatic 7-seater. If you’re looking for a nice example of the Mk3 Shogun, this is the car to buy. I am one of the very rare sellers who is extremely honest, and willing to go the extra mile to help with questions, information, extra photos, and even a YouTube video showing the exterior, interior and of the engine running is available to view. I can send many more photos and a link to the video via email or WhatsApp. This is an incredibly clean vehicle both inside and out, and drives, rides, goes and brakes superbly well. Being the 7-seat version, it's an incredibly practical vehicle with a huge boot (the 3rd row seats fold underneath the boot so you still have all the room you need) and comfortable seating. Not many owners know this, but the seats actually fold down to make a double bed, which is great for touring! The 3.5 litre V6 petrol gives fuel economy which is not far off the 3.2TD diesel version, but the 3.5 is far more reliable, as well as being smooth, quiet and powerful. Basic points are; - Just 87,500 miles covered (type 'Vehicle MOT history' into Google and use the DVLA website to check this if proof of genuine mileage is needed). - MOT until January 2019. No advisories on the MOT. - Cambelt, waterpump, drive-align tensioner and pulleys all replaced at around 81,000 miles (meaning it was only done 6,500 miles ago). - No rust on the bodywork, only a couple of tiny dents, and only a couple of scratches with the main ones being on a corner of the rear bumper (see video). - Huge service carried out a few hundered miles ago. - The chassis is very clean with no rust patches other than slight surface rust. I have undersealed some of the undercarriage, including the wheel arches. I checked for any rust before doing this, but aside from one small patch there was none and therefore it is in good condition. The wheels are also in excellent condition. Specifications are; - 5-speed Automatic gearbox with Tiptronic 'manual' mode. - Electric windows, sunroof and side mirrors. - Separate rear cooling and heating for second and third-row passengers. - Full leather seats in great condition, upgraded part-wood steering wheel and part-wood gear selector. - Heated front seats. - Cruise control. - Brand new high-end Sigma alarm & immobiliser system. - Reverse camera. - CREE LED lightbar. - Towbar with electrics. - 4x4 system is Mitusbishi's excellent SuperSelect system and includes 4H, 4HL, 4LL and rear locking differential. The Shogun runs in rear wheel drive normally, but its unique SuperSelect 4x4 system means you can run it in dry conditions in 4WD without issues. - In January 2017 at 85,973 miles I carried out a huge service which included; - Radiator coolant flush and refill with 5-year coolant. - Engine oil and filter changed using Mannol Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 oil. - Transmission/Gearbox oil dropped and replaced with CarLube ATF-U Fully Synthetic oil. I also replaced the transmission filter, which is rarely done even by garages. - Transfer box oil replaced with CarLube EP75W-90 Fully Synthetic. - Front and Rear differential oils replaced with CarLube EP80 Hypoid Gear Oil. - Air Filter also replaced. - Steering rack replaced. - I also had an EngineCarbonClean system clean done a few hundred miles ago. Not long after I bought the car in Nov 2016 at 85,390 miles, I replaced the front tyres with two brand-new Yokohama Geolander AT-S on/off-road tyres. The rear tyres are Kumho Road Venture AT and have around 80% tread left. The boot windows have a dark tint for privacy and to keep a dog cool should you have one. This is a truly great example of a mk3 Shogun, and you will find it hard to find a better one, especially at this asking price. I hate this saying, but the first to see will buy it!
